Patent and Trademark Attorney New implementing regulations of decree law no. 556 pertaining to the protection of trademark rights has entered into force as from April 9, 2005. Implementing Regulations pertaining to Decree Law No. 556 of the protection of trademark rights in Turkey has entered into force on April 9, 2005 upon its publication in the Official Gazette no. 25781 dated April 9, 2005. The new implementing Regulations has brought important changes to the recordal of status changes of trademark owners and ownership as well as the elimination of documentary requirements in both trademark application and status changes procedures and thereby provides the harmonisation of the national legislation with Trademark Law Treaty, effective in Turkey as of January 1, 2005.
