Celal Derviş Deris opened his general practice Deris Law Office in Istanbul in 1912. The office principally operated in trade related matters, trademark registration, patent registration and trademark infringement cases in Turkey. However, over the passing years the office became more active within the Intellectual Property field. Etem Dervis Deris (Celal's son), specializing in trade law, trademark registration, patent registration, trademark infringement cases and other related intellectual and industrial property rights , further expanded the practice after World War II. M.N. Aydın Deris, who took over from his father, transformed the law firm from a small practice of two lawyers into a dynamic and modern law firm that includes thirteen attorneys-at-law. Today, Deris Law Firm continues providing counsel to its clients in all matters related to intellectual property law such as trademark infringement cases, unfair competition, investigation of counterfeit goods, seizure of counterfeit goods and criminal actions, licence, assignment, franchising and distributorship agreements in Turkey.
